The Friends of Brecon Cathedral, a Registered Charity, was founded in 1930 by the first Bishop of Swansea & Brecon, Bishop Edward Latham Bevan. In the words of the founder, the Friends aims 'To bring together in a common fellowship of loyalty and devotion all those who care for the ancient Cathedral Church of Brecon and who desire to take some part in maintaining its fabric and services'.
Nowadays, the Friends has a membership of over 600 people from all over the country who, by their loyal support, enable grants to be made to the help the Dean & Chapter in their ongoing work of maintaining the fabric of this beautiful building and maintaining its liturgy and worship.
Membership of the Friends is open to individuals and organisations and further details, including details of the very reasonable membership fees can be found on this website or through the Cathedral Office. |
